“Spanish artist Outra-g debuts on Soft Phase with a surpassingly lovely EP. “Light Drops”
is a sonic tour of re-imagined lunar landscapes. We launch with shimmering, warbling chords
and subsonic, throbbing bass, our engines humming as Outra-g flies us low over blinding
white deserts, all sharp-edged shadows and faint radio chatter. Crackling, hissing wet
percussion accompanies us as we skim across strange new jungles, dipping down to the
edge of a glittering ocean, its churning tides foaming with electrofuzz. Steady, distorted
beats and blips, like far-flung light drops from distant stars, rain down, softening the edges
of ancient craters, gently reshaping the moon’s face.

The album closes with a look back at Earth, a fragile jewel hanging in velvet-black space,

“id Submerged debuts on Soft Phase with an entrancing ambient journey. The Answer
presents a series of half-remembered moments, the night’s fitful dreams balanced by the new
day’s order and peace.

id Submerged loops and blends gentle rasping beats, slow-morphing chorus, bent pitches,
sonorous drones and muted snippets of conversation. Sinewaves pulse and warp into infinity
as bright pinpricks of percussion cast dappled shadows against the morning calm. Synths call
and answer across widely spaced puddles of color, glitch-beat waterdrops reflecting the clouds
drifting across the skies.

The Answer is slow, comfortable, glowing. Like wrapping up in a blanket with a mug of hot tea,
listening to the rain beat against the window, as half-remembered scenes play against the mind’s
eye. Other times, other places, other people. Quiet melodies and chilly backgrounds melt into a

“Hungarian musician Weldroid, known for his bionic, bitcrushing releases on Kahvi,
debuts on Soft Phase with a new EP. “Splines” is the tale of a mechanical man
in search of his maker.

While Weldroid retains his signature robotic elements — pounding electronic beats,
glittering circuitry, bone-deep bass, growling horn voices backed by minor ambient
drones — there’s a warmer, human side to this album. An underlying natural pulse,
the heartbeat of a world in need of saving. The power of hope and steadfast
resolve. A lonely android wandering through vast, forgotten caverns, through
luminescent pools of coolant, assaulted by chaotic code fragments, blasted by
crystal-edged melodies and chilled, stuttering data streams.

Weldroid takes us on a journey through static-filled wastelands, tracking the
stumbling footsteps of the mechanical man as he braves windblown grit and
harsh sine waves. Glitched rhythms and plastic melodies are his only

“Many musicians defy musical convention. Very few can transport the listener
beyond established boundaries without leaving them feeling lost. For six years,
Planet Boelex has been creating music that is quite simply out of this world.
So, it’s playfully fitting that ‘Raja’, this much anticipated EP from the Finnish
musician, is a title that translates as ‘boundary’ or ‘limits’. Over five elegant,
entrancing tracks, ‘Raja’ has the capacity to transport you high above the clouds
and hundreds of leagues below the surface of the ocean. It redefines melody,
and somehow teases sublime sonic compositions from static. This is organic
electronica, underpinned by glitched beats that could come from chattering
computers abandoned on a scrapheap. Planet Boelex spins on a slower axis
this time around. The results, at times majestic and reflective, mournful and
